Packaging Design for Aldenta

This series of 5 different packaging designs is a modern twist on traditional Italian food branding. This series is a solution to a common food problem for many people: by combining three smaller jars of pasta sauces together in a larger package, individuals and duos can use these sauces in their entirety without food going bad before it can all be used. 

In order to effectively communicate the colors and imagery of Italian food products, I did a great deal of research on the different existing brands and decided to design better. Many of the current brands have an antiquey, outdated feel to them, so Aldenta fulfills the need in the market for a clean, exciting brand to stand out amongst the rest.

Using illustrations of the foods contained within the packaging, this brand encapsulates both a classy and whimsical feel. The packaging is intentionally simplistic to stand out on the busy grocery store shelves.

Social Issue Campaign

This campaign raises awareness as to how harmful single-use plastics are, specifically fast-food drink cups. Fast-food styrofoam or plastic-bottled drinks are the primary plastic most everyone uses every single day without ever thinking about its effects, so this campaign targets those drinks to raise awareness of the harms of single-use plastics. The purpose of this campaign is to bring awareness to how harmful single-use plastics are, which in turn will call people to make the conscious effort to choose to buy less of those plastics.

Branding Campaign for Singsong Candles

For this project, the task was to create product packaging and promote the product through creating a social media campaign and brand guidelines. Singsong is a brand of candles that is dedicated to helping you "Celebrate your People." Singsong utilizes whimsical illustrations, colorful swatches, and curvy typography to create an aura of nostalgia for past birthdays and excitement for future ones.

For this project, I built out an entire brand guideline book from scratch, including 12 pages of logo uses, colors, typography, illustrated elements, textures, how to style the guide, and how the brand should function cohesively. This brand guideline is extensive and detailed for the use of the company.

I also created packaging for one candle box for Singsong. Reminiscent of a crayon box to continue the nostalgic feel for childhood birthdays, this candle box features those whimsical illustrations and bright colors.

King's Day Promotional Poster

(2022 Gold ADDY winner!)

Inspired by the celebrations of the Netherlands over their annual King's Day holiday, this poster encapsulates major elements of the Dutch culture, which is the focus of this holiday, in its colors and imagery. This work was created as a promotional event poster to both educate people about this cultural event and inspire attendance. A major proponent of this holiday is the open-air vending and flea markets which are legal anywhere on this special day, and this poster promotes one of those flea markets.

In the shape of a crown, per the King's Day celebrations, the row houses which are such a popular icon of Dutch lifestyle act as a backdrop for the flea market taking place below. These houses are orange, after the recognizable color of the Netherlands, and an illustrated style pulls viewers in to read the smaller type more closely.
